my tattoo shading is extremely stiff and is starting to crack?

i just got my arm shaded in 3 days ago and although i apply lotion every few hours my arm feels extremely stiff and whenever i move my arm places of ink start to crack and peel. i know the process calls for peeling of a layer of skin but it feels so dry, and no lotion helps.
