What is the point in setting a tattoo?
My friend’s and I have been getting tattoos the last few weeks…and all my guy friends, whenever they get one done…another one will set it. AKA they will slap the tattoo as hard as they can about 30 minutes after its done. Anyone know what the point in that is?
Some people think it is funny to cause another pain. It’s a typical male response to emotions he is feeling. If he really likes the tattoo and he is jealous, he’ll want to express himself. Since men are emotional retards 90% of the time, they act like they are expected, like idiots.
Men don’t only do it to men. In my younger years I had quite a few tattoos of my own slapped within an hour of getting it. It is really quite painful and that is the only point of doing it, to cause a person pain. The slapping doesn’t set anything. It’s actually not a good idea, because your skin is already swollen and hitting it will only make matters worse. Not to mention, if the tattoo has been unbandaged and hands that have are not sterile and/or clean are touching your open wound(fresh tattoos are open wounds)then you are opening yourself up to all sorts of infections.
Tell you friends to try and abstain from their violent tendencies.
