How Bad tattoo hurts?

how bad do tattoos hurt?im getting one on my left shoulder that says forgive me lord..in like script lettering how bad does it hurt??whats the paint like??

i got one between my shoulder blades and it didn’t really hurt to bad at all. i was expecting it to hurt a lot more than it did lets put it that way. it just kinda feels like someone is scratching you with a toothpick or something haha i kept getting the chills because it kinda tickled. then afterwards its just like a sunburn for like 2-3 days and then it will itch for a little while.
