tattoo Training colleges/universitys/schools in ayr, glasgow or edinburgh?
im leaving school very very soon and want to go to college or university to do tattoo training or piercing training but i cant find any colleges or universities within the areas that i have asked for.
someone please help D:
Sounds like Blood-Ink is a little bitter. This is the type of person who shouldn’t be tattooing. As for tattoo colleges, there are none. There are correspondence courses in the US, but they are all a joke, and turn out lousy artists. They guarantee job placement only because they contract with crappy shops that will hire “graduates.” Yes, and apprenticeship is the way to go, it’s the only way to gain respect in the industry. If you look at the big names in tattooing right now, such as; Guy Aitchison, Durb Morrison, Paul Booth, Gill Montie, Gunnar, Lucie Lou, and many others, they all have done a formal apprenticeship, and won’t even talk to someone about working in their shop who doesn’t have an apprenticeship. Yes, they cost money, but, you are paying for someone to teach you, as well as your equipment. Would you pay to go to a correspondence course? If you found a college that offered tattooing, would you pay there? Would you expect someone to teach you for free? Blood-Ink is mad because he can’t find an apprenticeship and wants to try to push people around. Would you go to a doctor that took an online course, or trained themselves in their basement? No, you go to a doctor that is properly trained. Do yourself a favor, if you want it, put in your time as an apprentice.
