Is it bad to go in a sauna with a new tattoo?
I’m hoping to get my next tattoo soon (paw prints on my ribs for my dog who is near the end of her life, my only pet, love her more than life) I know most of the aftercare instructions because of my last small tattoo but recently my friends and I have been going in the sauna at their house and I was wondering if I can still do this with a new tattoo or how long i’d have to wait before i did use a sauna?

I also had a tattoo of a butterfly on my ankle. The weekend following, my girlfriends and I went to the Hunter Valley for my Henz night. We went into the Sauna, and it was all fine till i got out!
My body was sweating, my pores were open and the ink was just RUNNING down my leg. My beautiful wedding gift from my hubby (or soon to be) had flown away!
It’s been 6 months, and all i have left of my beautiful butterfly is what looks like a smudged discoloured birthmark.
I recommend covering the tatt in some sort of plastic wrap to prevent and excess liquid going through.
Trust me, im a mum.
