Is my tattoo infected?
Last week I got my second tattoo. It’s a small heart on my left hip. About three days ago I noticed red bumps that look like giant pimples :[ They itch like hell and are driving me crazy :-/
My other tattoo was the same size heart on my right hip and it healed within 4 days and I didn’t have any of the problems I have with this one.
I’ve used the same creams and done the same aftercare so I know its not allergies?….
HELP! please. They’re really driving me bananas :[
I highly doubt that it’s infected. More likely, you’re just doing what many people (including myself) have done and over moisturized. It’s a very easy thing to do and pretty common, even amongst those who are hardly tattoo “virgins”.
What worked for me is to back off and not moisturize at all for a couple of days (barring really dry skin), and then use just a very small amount. A little goes a long way, and you’re better off with not quite enough than too much.
