Tattoo on Foot Swollen
why is my foot swollen and red after a tattoo?
I got a tattoo on the top of my foot a week ago. It is swollen, sore and really red right beside the tattoo itself. I have taken antibiotics as a precaution. and followed all the aftercare. what can i do to help it heal faster.
I personally have never seen it,and I am a tattoo artist.i have seen them a little red after words,but usually thats gone after about an hour.BUt if it was anew artist or something along those lines they tend to go a lil deeper than need be as well have not learned the proper techniques….ecpecially on afoot as the skin is already tight and shallow needle depth is needed.BUt more than likely its just how much time and the pounding method he used to get the ink in…..but after a week the swelling if any should have resided along with any redness….so I am on the fence,wait to see if it settles….but the healing for most tattoos is usually,sore and a lil painful right after redness alittle swelling although some people swell more…..the next day it should be icky looking maybe if you had oinment on all day,but just clean it like a natural cut……after about 2 days the pain is usually gone unless you rub it against something…but being in your shoe might make it 3-4 days…..after about 4-5 days it will peel slowly,and this is a sometimes thing too…ive had some tht never peeled at all….but just take care of it and hope it heals good……maybe wear slippers or sandals more….
