Tattoo Makers
Would you allow your tattoo artist to sign their work?
This is in the case that the design and ink is done by the same person. In what case would you allow your tattooist to put their makers mark into the design? Do you think it is a similiar situation when an artist paints a painting and signs it?
I would appreciate answers that explain why. Also if you are not into tattoo art and have little say in the matter, don’t say it. However if you feel you have something relevant to say, please do! 
Sunshine Mel: The worth of a signature is for the tattooist. If they take pride in their work it works to provide more acclaim and it can be also regarded as a sign of quality. Similiar to jewelry that is hallmarked.
I would allow it, but I would prefer the signature to be symbolic in nature. It is after all, the artists work, even though you commissioned them to do it. In Japan, the traditional Tebori artists always sign their work. I believe the original purpose for this was partially to prevent non-masters from engaging in large scale work that was above their skill level. I think doing the same here would promote the art form to an overall higher level of quality, just as it has there.
