Tattoo Infection Antibiotics

what to do for a tattoo infection?

I got a tattoo about a month ago, at a very sanitary and above board tattoo shop, I followed all the after care instructions and it was healing well. Now though, there are signs of infection appearing.
circular red marks with the edges raised and the centers sunken in, all around the area of the tattoo. Currently I am redoubling my aftercare and washing it twice as frequently as I was. Also I have purchased antibiotic ointment.
How should I treat it? I am going to the docter as soon as it opens, but if I could make it go on away on my own I would love to.
Due to the shape of the marks I am thinking that it must be ring worm. Would having the tattoo make that area of skin more susceptible?

A month old tattoo shouldn’t have any problems in the infection department. It’s not a wound any more. Unless of course, you’re diabetic. That can make them take a lot longer to heal. But, put some Bacitracin on it, just in case. If it doesn’t clear up, get your doctor to prescribe some antibiotics. Most tattoos are healed in eighteen days, on the surface. Four weeks, deep down.
