Tattoo Aftercare Aquaphor
Tattoo scabbing or normal healing?
I just got a tattoo two days ago and now I believe it may be scabbing. When I am applying Aquaphor to it like my tattoo artist suggested I can feel the lettering is a bit raised and not flat, the area around the lettering is slightly red (more pink). I have been putting a small layer of Aquaphor on it three times a day and washing it twice a day with just soap and my hand. I know scabbing is normal but I’m kind of paranoid cause this is my first tattoo. I am going to switch to lotion (Eucerin) tomorrow. Is this something I should worry about or just continue with the aftercare my artist has instructed me with?
Scabbing is normal. Just don’t pick at it and keep it hydrated. I use eucerin, and it works great. Make sure you don’t apply to much, if it shiny take a napkin and dab that access off. Remember tattoos take 4-6 weeks to heel completely. You should be fine.
