Where will tattoos hurt the most on the upper body? And can i sleep while getting a tattoo? If so will i feel it
I plan on goining to Hawaii University to play football in a few years. I want to get a really big tattoo design on the left side of my upper body. This design will strech from as far as the mid-center of my abs, under the arm, on the shoulder, and a little on the hip area. i also want to get a picture of a face on the right side of my abs as well. I want to know if it is safe to sleep while getting this all done. And What will be a good approach prior of getting this all done?
If you are lying down while getting the tat done, and it isn’t hurting you too much, then you can absolutely sleep. I had an appointment today for 3 hours (part of a 50-hour full back piece) and I fell asleep twice. If you are in a sitting position this may be harder. Additionally, it may hurt a bit too much for you to be able to sleep while it is happening.
On the upper body in general, tats hurt the most on the rib area, side and under the arm, spine, and shoulder blades. This is due to proximity to bone as well as density of nerve endings. The back of the hip isn’t bad at all though, in my experience (that’s generally when I fall asleep =)
Just be sure to bring some water and juice or a granola bar or something just to keep your sugar up, and eat a good meal beforehand. Sleeping might be the last thing on your mind once you get under the needle =)
Good luck!
