Tattoos on teenagers.?
Ok so im really into music and tattoos and piercings. I’m kinda hippieish, I wear skinnies, band tees, and little bows in my hair. I’m 15 and I already want 5 different tattoos. A peace sign on my foot, stars and music notes on my hip, a pen writing the word love on my inner left wrist, a heart on my hand near my thumb , and a dandelion with the seeds and fluff blowing across my back. My dad says ill regrets getting them but I don’t think so. Any opinions would be great. Please no lectures regarding how Jesus hates tattoos because I don’t care. Also if anyone has tattoos in theses places how painful getting them would be great. Thanks “)
Okay, I would like to preface that I’m only 20, so I’m not some middle aged person ready to lecture. (Can I still say only 20? It feels old >.<)
When I was your age, I wanted music notes across my collar bone. Five years later, I am SO happy I didn't get it done. Even things I wanted last year, I don't want. The only thing I still want to get is something for my best friend who passed away.
Do you see what I'm getting at?
It's so true that you shouldn't get a tattoo unless it REALLY means something to you. Random things like you described (well, they sound random, maybe they do have meaning to you) are a bad idea. Sorry :/
Unless they do have meaning to you. But I’d still wait until I was 18, if I were you. You need a parent’s consent anyway. This sucks to hear, I’m sure, but you’re still really young. What you want now could be totally opposite of what you want when you’re older. Sorry to be all adult-ish, but it’s true. I’m not that much older than you, so I remember being 15 very clearly. And actually, I think I was very much your type of person. I hung out with all my tattooed friends, went to punk-rock and screamo shows, had pink hair and different facial piercings at different times, and always had bows in my hair (I was awesome haha).
If your ideas DO have deep meaning, my opinion of those is that they do sound pretty cool. I don’t think they sound trashy like someone above me said.
I think for now though you should maybe go the piercing route, if you want to do something semi-rebellious. Piercings can be taken out and they grow over with no scars or anything (if you took well care of them). tattoo removal is actually sort of terrifying.
Wait until you’re older and can really view what your life is going to be like, and it your tattoos are a good idea.
