Star Tattoos and Meanings
What do three nautical stars represent? and would this be a good place to get them tattooed?
I was just wondering what it really represents. I see all sorts of different meanings. And I wanted to get the three nautical stars tattooed on my shin, not sure which leg it would be. How do tattoos look on the shin? Do they fade easily? I don’t really care about the pain because I have a high pain tolerance. And I’d know what to expect with tattoos since I already have two.
That would make me want it even more then if it had a religious meaning. I like that, Since I am Catholic.
Nautical stars were usually a sailors tattoo and they were done to help bring them guidance or good luck on a voyage. They usually represent guidance, protection, or finding your way through life. They don’t have much religious meaning. You can get it any where you like. If it’s small it would look ok on the shin but if it’s going to be large, I would suggest getting the star on the calf. As long as you take care of it, it shouldn’t fade all that much.
