Spirit Guide Tattoos
Who else believes LLewellyn has sold out its readers?
It seems anyone, with any amount of barely coherent drivel can write a book and get it published by this author. What was the leading resource for New Age, pagan, and Wiccan books has become a mockery of itself. It pumps out books on how to see mermaids, elves and fairies, generic texts on spell-casting and holiday lore, endless tomes on meditating to find your spirit guide (which is never a turtle or slug but usually a snow leopard or dolphin or something that looks cool as a tattoo). It pisses me off because young people curious about the craft and paganism and pick up these books–that are mostly fiction and theory and someone trying to make a buck–and take them as if they were pagan scripture. The few decent titles they have are lost among the volumes of crap. It is warping the minds of what could be intelligent, grounded pagans and Wiccans, and I am tired of it.

Yeah, they have tons of crap, but if you know what you’re looking for you can find it. My Tarot cards are actually from Llewellyn and they have never let me down. I can see how it would piss you off, but you should inform people rather than complain about it.
