Getting my first tattoo! Sanskrit help!?

So this Friday at the nyc tattoo Convention I’m getting my first tattoo, the words ‘food’ and ‘justice’ will be forever transliterated in Sanskrit on my shoulders with respect to an amazing Indian agriculture activist I’ve studied and had the pleasure of meeting, and also because I have worked in the urban food system for several years and respect it greatly :)
Now I have done countless research and have the correct transliteration of these words, but I’m sure a computer generated font is much different than if it were beautifully handwritten… so how could I go about fixing this?
Should I look for an artist who has done Sanskrit before? Go to an Indian shop where someone could do it for me? Maybe one of YOU out there could be so kind as to do it for me? Thanks so much <3

Sanskrit doesnt actually put a lot of emphasis on calligraphy, but yes, there are nicer looking fonts. However, I dont think you can actually transliterate (as in write the same words but in the Sanskrit fonts) the word ‘food’ per se because Sanskrit has no f. The ph makes a pa-ha, as in hophead, sound, not a ph as in phone sound.

I think there are enough people getting tattoos in Skt these days that a lot of tattoo artists know something about it.

If you want, pm me and I’ll ask someone here to use a traditional wooden stylus-type pen to write it out for you. I can check your translation too. I can write it for you but it won’t be any prettier than just writing भोजनीय / फूद सुधर्मत्व / जस्तस

Last–are you sure your ag activist is best honored with Sanskrit, a language with a long and heavy history of caste, elitism, oppression of lowerborn, etc, and not a localized language like Maithili or Tamil or Marathi or Oriya? Maybe you’ve already asked. Some of those transliterate with the same script most commonly used for Skt today, but Skt has many scripts (it is a strongly aural/oral language, with writing very much secondary)

Cliffs: pm me and we can dice it up.
