What is your take on the new tattoo regulations for the Marines?
I am just glad I got my forearm tattoos before the cut off. I thought about what I wanted and where for over 7 1/2 years so I was glad about my decision (I do not plan to ever get anymore though) I think they are being too restrictive personally. I agree that nothing from the neck up or wrists down should be allowed due to our dress uniforms but the rest should be fair game if the tattoo meets the appropriateness of design requirements (no swastikas….did I spell that right? Or any gang related stuff) I could give a cr@p about naked fairies and women and stuff since I am not so insecure that seeing that stuff bothers me, but over all I think people are being judged on their proficiency as an overall Marine by their tattoos and that is garbage (anyone in the military knows as well as I do that a clean cut turd is worse than one who may be rough around the edges but knows their stuff and knows how to lead)
Well I can at least support ya on this one if no one else will. I agree the they’re being too restrictive, there is no good reason to change the standards that have served the corps well for the last few decades. I say if it does’t show in dress then it’s fair game and screw the rest.
