can someone help me! I cant remove FAST BROWSER SEARCH in Firefox I’ve try everything. And I mean everything.?

From removing it from add ons to removing from control panel and doing about:config I don’t know what else to do. It wont go away. I got it from Facebook playing around with my web tattoo, got rid of webtattoo and got this pain in the ass browser that wont go away. Please help!!!

Way 1

Try these following steps to remove the fast browser search
1. type about:config in the location bar
2. Scroll down to browser.search.defaultenginename (double click to open) and change that to Google and click OK.
3. The next line is browser.search.defaulturl (double click to open) and change that url to http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q= and click OK.
4. Now scroll down a ways to keyword.url (double click to open) and change that to http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q= and click OK.

If the way 1 does not allow your remove the FAST BROWSER SEARCH, the try the following steps also.

Way 2

1. Close Firefox
2. go to C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxchrome folder
rename the following files to have .old extension
1) C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxchromefbstoolbar.jar
2) C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxchromefbstoolbar.manifest
go to C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxsearchplugins folder and rename the following files
3) C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxsearchpluginsfast.xml
4) C:Program FilesMozilla Firefoxsearchpluginsfast.png

3. Start Firefox
4. go to about:config page as mentioned above.
find “fast” and “fbs” and reset each instance . To reset every entry, right click on every entry and select “reset” from the menu.
5. If you were not able to reset the keyword.url value previously, then do it now.

restart Firefox
