In the X-men films the brotherhood of mutants have a libra-like tattoo. Does it appear on the comic books too?

In the X-men film trilogy most members of the brotherhood of mutants have a symbol tattoed on their skin,
Callisto has it on her right cheek and on her chest and others have it on the sides of their neck.
Was this symbol created for the films or does it appear on the comic books too?

It’s actually an Omega symbol:

It’s not used in the comic books but in the movie it is like a gang sign for a huge underground mutant outcast group called the Omegas. The Omegas in the movie are equivalent to the Morlocks in the comics although almost none of the members that are shown in the movie are Morlocks in the comics except for Callisto (Arclight actually massacred dozens of Morlocks in the comics so I thought it was weird that she was a Morlock/Omega in the movie). The Morlocks don’t have insignias in the comics so I’m pretty sure the tattoos were just made up for the movie unless there is an obscure reference or something that I don’t know about.
