is it safe to get a tattoo while breastfeeding?

I read a lot of different answers such as yes but you should be very careful of infections and others say no because of the risk of infections. I would like people to expand on yes or no answers please without being disrespectful. Thanks in advance.

The simple truth is there is always a risk of infection – meaning serious infection – as serious as hepatitis C – this can potential cross to the infant. Those of us who take annual bloodborne pathogens classes and are on top of our game with preventing cross contamination really don’t worry so much about that aspect, but we also take on a huge liability as well.

If something ever would happen – of course, the tattoo artist would be to blame. This is a very litigious world out there and we protect ourselves by protecting the client.

It is also against regulation to do so in many localities.
