children’S Books Tattoo
Quote/picture tattoo from The Little Prince?
For as long as I can remember I have absolutely loved the children’s book “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint Exupery. It only seems natural that my first tattoo be a homage to that book. Soooo… I am currently at an impasse:
I plan on getting the rose that the little prince cares for on his planet. The biggest question now is which quote to couple it with.
So should I get:
A) “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.”
B) “Eyes are blind one must look with the heart” (a shorter version of the first option)
C) “You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.”
D) “It is truly useful since it is beautiful.”
Thanks for any input! I’ve been back and forth for months with this quote business, it seems like every time I reread the book, I find something else!
I love D) because it implies how each of us can find different things beautiful and derive pleasure from it forever. Others may not understand the ‘use’ of some things that you do (for eg, paint, write etc) but only you know how important it is. Ultimately the most important thing in life is to do what you love to do and put your 100% in it
