Apprenticeship Tattoo Artist
How do I become a tattoo artist?
I want to become a tattoo artist, But i’ve no idea how old i have to be to start an apprenticeship,I am currently 15, And VERY artistic, I have already started on my Portfolio, and I am greatly enjoying it.
There is only one tattoo store in my local town in which I know of.. On the off Chance, I’m from Wales Cwmbran, so any Tattoo mentors searching for an apprentice.. give me a reply.
You don’t really need classes at first. If you’re local tattoo shop is looking for more people. assemble a portfolio of many different pictures like someone would get as a tattoo, nothing too detailed. Call them up when the owner is in and set a date to let him/her check out your work. If you are accepted they’ll probably sign you up for an apprenticeship letting you shadow one of the tattooists and learning the ropes. They’ll probably give you some lessons and some equipment and go from there. Of course you’ll probably have to be near the age of 18. Hope this helps, good luck.

I am 26 and have been drawing and painting now for around 10 years, I am currently getting my left sleeve finished. I absolutely love tattoos, and drawing and would very much like to know if there are any apprenticeships available. I have a healthy portfolio and I am willing to travel. I currently reside in Carmarthen.
