After Tattoo Rules

Why was i sick getting my tattoo?
I got my tattoo covered up yesterday and whilst he started doing it i vomited and felt very faint.
I drank plenty water and had a good meal before i went. I always make sure i follow all general rules of before and after getting a tattoo. I’ve had 2 done before i got this one done and was fine with them. Yeah i get a little nervous but that only lasts until he starts inking me.
I thought it could have been due to him doing a cover up and i didn’t really like the sound of him going over another tattoo but he froze it so i couldn’t really feel going over the other tattoo. I still feel pretty sick now, more like a hangover feeling.
I know the place is sterile and they never re-use needles etc. I’ve been to the same place before and he’s always super careful with hygiene.
Help?
Sand – I wasn’t sick because i didn’t wanna get rid of my tattoo, it was the whole point of getting it covered up, i hated it with a passion lol!
I had gotten several tattoos before from one artist, however, during my fourth one, located on the lower right hand side of my back, the shop owner tattooed me. (previously, his right hand man did all of my tattoos, but the owner asked if he could do this one, because it was a design he really was interested in) During this tattoo, I had a very similar experience as you. It felt like someone was stabbing right through my kidney with a blazing hot knife. I became very hot and nauseous. I did not vomit, but I did faint. The nausea and clammy, weird, “hangover” like symptoms stayed with me for several hours after words. Needless to say, it was not a pleasant experience. The tattoo is now a few years old, and upon feeling it, it is raised, like a scar. Unfortunately, the artist went too deep and I think that it why the pain was so much greater and caused me to faint, etc. I have since gotten 2 more tattoos, from my other artist artist and have had no problems.
